Kayango Center
The Kayango Center is located in a small village right off a main highway. Because of the traffic and the activities of the trucking industry, HIV/AIDS is more widely spread in this area and has devastated the community. The center was started as an outreach to orphans in this small garden community by Peter Mutebi (Peter has planted over 1,000 churches across Uganda and has a vision to reach 10,000 orphans.) The center was started in 2002. The idea is to care for the children in long term, holistic, redemptive ways through ongoing sponsorship. There are currently 100 children who are sponsored, with access to an additional 400 orphans in the nearby communities. The goal is to begin outreaches in this place that will address physical, medical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs.
